I happened across your information on the Brantley Family and found an error that you might want to correct.
Malinda B, Brantley is descended from Charles Harris Brantley, and Charles Harris Brantley, M.D. Is descended from Edmund Brantley and his wife Sarah Thompson. Edmund’s father was Jesse Brantley (born 1769 N.C. And died 1842 Meriwether county, Ga.), NOT Joshua. Joshua was probably a brother of Jesse.
I am descended from Lewis Brantley and Isabella Weakley Duke Brantley, their son Francis Marion Brantley, his son Lewis Ananias Brantley, and his son Lewis E. Brantley (my father).

In 1679 Henry Watkinson patents land in Henrico County, Varina Parish, adjoining John Lewis (on north side of James River.)
John Lewis sold his land in Isle of Wight County, Virginia about the same time as Richard Izard’s death and the appearence of the Izard widow near the Chickahominy area in Varina parish, Henrico County, indicates this is the same John from Isle of Wight County, Virginia to Henrico County. So states Robert J.C.K. Lewis in Lewis Patriarchs of Early Virginia and Maryland. (more…)
